Late Gift

Thanks to the spring challenge quilt, I was a bit late with this gift.  Luckily, it was an apron for my mom, so she was pretty forgiving about the delay.

This is not my mom, in case you were wondering, this is my daughter (G1) modelling it before we gave it to her.  You can see by the shine that it is laminated fabric – peacock feathers by Amy Butler.  G2 picked out the fabric.  There is enough left over to make a little apron for her so she will be happy.

It was a pretty quick project once I got to it.  The pattern is Simplicity 2298.  The shape is just cut out and bias binding is put on all around the edge and used for ties.  There is a snap at the back of the neck, but it doesn’t have to be opened unless you  happen to be wearing a big hat.
