Since pojagi looks great with light shining through it, it is only logical that it would work for windows. Here I took the same blocks that I used in the place mats and table topper and made a valance for my kitchen window. I think this is the kind of thing that people will either love or hate. I like it, but I’m probably a bit biased. I used batiks again, but silk would give it a totally different look.
I used four different fabrics. It was supposed to be a light, two mediums and a dark, but it is more like a light, one medium and two darks when I see it. The sunlight really balances out the values. You would need to have a very dark and very light to see contrast. Here is a close-up.
I think it would look nice even if it was made with a single fabric.

What material did you use? It looks really lovely. I have made a curtain and can’t wait to get back to Australia and hang it up. You are right, pojagi is fantastic hung on a window.

Shazam! I love it! That is so beautiful! I can’t say how clever I think that it is. And, it is inspiring. We’ve lived in our house for 11 years and there are only a few windows that have any sort of anything on them. This just might be the thing for a room or two at my house! Love it!
